Dragging Ass

In teams of two, complete 3 rounds of the following

Row 500 meters and Double unders for reps

Ring dips (25 reps for gentlemen, 20 for the ladies) and Power Cleans for reps (135/95 lbs)

In this workout, one athlete will perform double unders while the other athlete rows 500 meters.  Upon completion, one athlete will perform power cleans for as long as it takes the other athlete to complete the dips.  Then switch.  Both athletes must be done with the double unders/row before starting the power cleans/dips.

Each athlete must row at least once and double under at least once.  At the end of the WOD, the team total reps of power cleans and double unders will equal seconds off the total time.

I need to get back to Love

For time:

800 meter sprint ROW

Rest precisely 3 minutes, then perform 3 rounds of:

7 Front Squats 155lbs 65lbs (from the ground)

14 oh walking lunges with 45lb 15lb plate

7 burpees

I arrived to the box and thought to jog a mile to warm up. I didn't stop once. I'm happy about that. I kept an easy pace. Afterwards I got this crazy headache, like a migraine that made my head just throb painfully. I was on the fence about even doing the WOD, but was convinced by C-Rose. I knew I didn't want to run, so I rowed. I didn't really warm up my front squat, so the 65#s was a shot in the dark. It was definitely difficult. I hurriedly grabbed a 15# plate for my walking lunges when I should have grabbed 25#.

Either way, this WOD sucked more than I could have anticipated. I went hard on the row, and kept a 2:30 pace; I haven't rowed in 2 months. It gassed me.

After the break, I realized 4 reps into the FS that  65#s was too advantages(sp?) for myself whom has not done multiple rep front squats in a WOD in a really long time. I did do the 1x5 FS WOD last week, but 65#s was my max weight. I hope I didn't fuck my back up; I wasn't hurting during the WOD. I'll find out tonight when I sleep if my back/hip are jacked.

I no longer have the attention span to finish this blog entry.

I must go and get centered.

I hurt everywhere

I can barely type this. I'm exhausted, my arms are almost inoperable, and my right hand is bandaged up.
I'm super proud of myself for finishing. I really am. During the 30 round I was confronted with a "I can't." I started to cut a deal in my head saying that I would do half of the pull ups in round 20 and 10. I was starting to feel hopeless computing how many pull ups I had left at that moment (46 total left). I had to shake myself out of it, and not think of the astronomical number, but only worry about the 4 or 5 I could muster at that moment. I chipped away at it.

Ya, it was the pull ups that completely humbled me. The DUs were "rest." The Push ups were not great, I did go to failure every 5 push ups, but they weren't as devastating to my body as the pull ups. I think it's the use of my entire body when I kip that makes it soooo brutal. It almost makes me want to puke.

During the last 2 pull ups of the 20 round, I had Francisco right there cheering me on (cause I was a sad, whiney bitch at this point), I had to use a lot of force to kip. But I did it. Then I looked down at my right hand, and saw a pretty decent size flap of skin sticky straight up. Underneath that, bloody, raw flesh. Let's just say that the last 10 pull ups were a test to my pain threshold. I did them 1 at a time.

Let's take a look, shall we?

Overall, my hands are pretty raw and tender. Typing hurts. As well, as my forearms feel really swoll.

I'm going to sleep like a fuckin' bear hibernating in the winter. I suspect running drills in my near future since my upper body will not be in working order.

Jumping the gun

AMRAP 20 minutes of:

18 Dumbbell Thrusters (50#/35#) 10#

12 Toes to Bar  Knees to Elbows, strict

6 Triple unders or 18 Double Unders

I'm happy with my performance. What I'm not happy about is that I have incited and flare up of pain in my hip and back area. I'm mad at myself. I really didn't take the time to do my crossfit math. I thought, I'll do really light thrusters, cause 18 is not all that much. Well you multiply 18 by 7 rounds and you got over 120 thrusters. Aaaaaand, I had warmed up with K2T and all the that violent kipping probably irritate my front hip flexor. Theeeeennnnn, I did 40 back extension as part of the warm up as well.

I'm fuckin' retard. I spent Sunday night feeling miserable. Couldn't sleep, the pain was pretty constant.

Went in for my A.R.T appt and had to tell Eric how unhappy I was feeling trying to constantly manage my pain. It's very draining and tiring. We did the session and it was sooooo fuckin' painful. The next 24 hours were really not pleasurable. I was driven to talk 600mg of Advil to just take the edge off. Everything was difficult: sitting, walking, laying down.

I've hit the fish oil pretty hard again. I just need to start eating better, and I've sworn to lay off the alcohol.

I just want to feel better.

Another A.R.T appt tomorrow morning. It's so borderline unbearable. I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm banking on some relief soon.

Wrecked

Power clean 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

55-65-75-80m-80-85m-85PR-90m

I've never done 1RM for Power Clean, so this is my baseline, but I do not for sure that I've never clean a bar over 80#, power nor squat, so I'd say that 85#s is a PR. My attempts at 90 where I failed I think is due to me being tired, not cause I'm not strong or fast enough to successfully complete the lift. So 90 is completely in my sights.

Went LAXCF and continue practicing cleans. Dan wanted to record me to doing it and here it is:

I initially was doing power cleans, but I think as I get into the higher weights I need to do it as a squat clean. This was 83#s. I like it. I'm sure I could drop under the bar faster, but I'm happy over all. I felt my explosion in my jump shrug was powerful and I'm getting the bar pretty high, it's just swing my elbows around and dropping into that squat.

I really want to record myself more so I can work on tweaking my technique.

Soooooo tired. My body is super sore and probably is dying for sleep so it can heal.

Insomnia is back.

Seven rounds of:

35 Double-unders

1 Squat Snatch

Make one snatch attempt per round.

My time- 15:13 (665# @ 35#s)

This WOD just obliterated me. After I called time, I just sat down and felt all heady and loopy. Then I slipped into a fog... I just felt really drowsy. I couldn't believe that I had to get my energies together to coach the kids right afterwards.

It's 4:33AM in the morning and I'm exhausted but I can't all asleep. I'm anxious to see how I feel for the rest of the day.

I've been have tummy aches the past couple of days. I don't like it. I have a feeling that I've eaten something that has hidden wheat in it. We'll see.

Having some clarity

3 Pull-ups on the minute for 10 minutes

I started with the 1/2" band for the first 4 minutes. Then on minute 5, I had to go up to the 1" band. I believe I did 11 rounds, just cause I lost count.

After that I jammed over to SMC to join Frank n Beans for some Pose running- Yay'er! I will have video coming of the improvement of my pull and foot landing. You're excited, aren't you. We did an hour of running drills that included jumping rope. The wod ended up being 12- 100m runs for cadence on the minute; any leftover was rest. Using a metronome, we started off at a pace of 90 beats per minute. After 4 rounds we upped it to 93 beats per minute. The last 4-100m we paced at 96 beats per minute.

The intention of the metronome is to be mindful of the timing AND HEIGHT of the leg pull off the ground. The faster the beat, higher and quicker you have to pull your foot off the ground. The WOD killed me--- not my lungs but my hamstrings. By the 8th-100m, my legs were not happy. The felt sooooo heavy. The springiness in my "bounce" was lost, but I did my damndest to keep up with the metronome as its speed increased. Frank took video of our pose in rounds 4 and 10. We reviewed the first video between rounds 8 and 9, and it was evident that I was still have a slight heel strike on my right foot.

The second video shot in round 10, even though my legs were greatly fatigued, showed that I had definitely corrected my heel strike and I was looking "lighter on my feet" on my landing. My pose was a true pose. Yay'er!

I definitely did not eat enough calories today to fuel the amount of work I did. I'm starving and sleepy all at the same time.

Oh, BTW, seeing myself on the video, I can now totally see the change in my body comp. Not great, but I definitely can see that I leaned out and have more definition. It's bonkers.

Must eat/sleep now.

Today, after a week of pretty intense work, my body is WRECKED. I'm sore all over. I love it!

Fran, again

FRAN!!!

21/15/9

Thrusters (95/65)

Pull ups

My arms took a shit on me. The pull ups were wretched. I liked doing the thrusters at this lower weight- of course! I really need to work on stringing my pull ups together. The thrusters weren't bad. I was being mindful of my back/sciatic issue. Not really sure what it is yet. I've been icing and rolling it every night for the past 5 days.

My pull ups gassed me. My last 9 were very sad :( I collapsed on the floor and didn't move for a bit.

I did Fran this evening at LAXCF. Everyone was so nice. They had an on-ramp class going. Everyone did so well doing their scaled down Fran.

I rolled, iced and soaked in a hot tub all for my back this evening. I do not want this to hinder my training.

I'm really emotional today. ugh.

Jerky Boys and Girls

Clean and Jerk 5-4-3-2-1-1-1

I was really gassed in this WOD. At the end of my set of 5 reps of I seeing stars. Every round I was seeing stars. I thought my C&J 1RM was 70#s, but I found out it is 75#s. After several failed attempts at 75#s, I just walked away. I was down on my myself for sure. I guess there could be a lot factors in why I couldn't get myself under the bar; maybe I was just tired from all the work I had already done, I just started eating "clean" again and my body is recalibrating from loss of calorie denseness it got from carbs, I was wearing running shoes with squishy soles, or maybe that I was on 6 hours of sleep and had not eaten a thing for breakfast before coming into class.... who knows?

So, I will chock this up to a "next time" and hopefully will be able to do 75#s C&J in the near future, and then smash it with a new PR.

And my Crossfit hands are back!

Three rounds for time of:

Run 400 meter

15 Pull-ups

50 Squats

15 Pull-ups

So looking at the times on the board from the morning classes, I gave myself a goal of completing this WOD in 35 mins. So when I called time and saw that I did it in under 25 mins I was pleased as punch.

My entire shoulder and upper arms were still sore from K2E on Monday; and I definitely exacerbated that
soreness by working on my kipping last night with Rico. Actually my body feel pretty beat up as a whole. My posterior chain is very tight from the Deadlifts yesterday. Doing DROM was painful and pleasurable at the same time.

The first run was fine. It cold as hell, though. I broke up the pull ups in sets of 5. Air squats are my thing. I think this is where I made up a lot of time. I mostly jog a very slow comfortable pace; it was rest time. The second run was different. I felt my nose running; it forced me to breath through my mouth, which I felt didn't oxygenate me as well. I got back to the box and blew my nose, at which I heard a loud pop in my ears. Then my head started to vibrate and ears started to rings. I felt a lot of pressure building up in my ears and under my eyes. My sinuses were putting on a mutiny. Somehow I managed to complete my 15 pull ups, then my squats... It felt good to massage my temples at that time. The second 15 pull ups were way easier than the first 15 in all 3 rounds- peculiar, right?

The last run was easy and smooth. Got back and felt like I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. The pressure in my head had subsided. But my hands were feeling really raw. I didnt tear or anything, but they were feeling very worn. The last set of 50 squats felt like they were going by soooooo slow. Again the last 15 pull ups felt like doable--- this time in sets of 3s and 2s.

My body is soooo wrecked. I'm going to take the day off tomorrow. Let my muscles heal up. I don't want to really take the day off, but I know I should. Can't wait to get back in on Friday :)

I'm soooo sleepy and full of quab-lol!

Jack-a-mofo!

"Jack"

Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:

115/80-85 lb Push press, 10 reps --35#

10 KB Swings, 1.5/1 pood

10 Box Jumps, 24"/20" box --16"

Another one of those I'm going to die wods. Or it could be the horrible reverse-Paleo diet I've been on. Yea, it's probably that.

My arms and hamstrings were still very sore from Monday's WOD, so I definitely had challenges with the KB swings. Excited that I was able to do the RX'd weight of 1 pood.  And history has shown that Box jumps make me have pukie-burps (yum!). The Push press was light, but still very taxing. After the 20 mins my head was reeling and my body was just done. Felt drunk high for about an hour after.

I'm praying for a heavy day sometime soon. The WODs the past 2 weeks have been kicking my ass.

For time:

Run 1K

50 Wall Ball 2-fer-1's

25 Flying Pull-ups

Scale Version A:
Run 1K - I ROWED!
30 Wall Ball 2-fer-1's
15 Flying Pull-ups (one hand at a time)

My time: 14:54

I loved this wod. It kicked my ass. I rowed because my calves are super tight from the sprints on Sunday's team WOD. It took me 5:04 to row 1000, which means I have yet to improve on my 500m time. I've plateaued at the 2:29-2:34 range. Oh well. Rowing is low on my "things to work on" list.

I love/hate the 2fer-1's. I like the challenge, but boy are they tiring. Esp. after the row, I could only do 2 at a time before having to take a couple of seconds to catch my breath. It felt like the 30 wall balls took me a long time to get through.

Onto the bar, I used a 1.5" band. I violently kipped and reached behind me to the 7ft bar, hoping that my little hand would take. Times 15. It was not cool. And it ripped up the hands good. No blood for me, but quite a few did escape unscathed.

I collapsed on the floor and had that feeling I chase... it was great. My body was felt like a big beating heart. The heat rushing to my face. Mmmm.

My body is in healing mode. Even though I had 8 hours of sleep last night, I felt really tired in the middle of the day and took an hour nap. I can only assume it's because it needs the sleep to heal my sore parts. It's not even 11pm now and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open It's like I'm a baby or a puppy. It could also be that I had hot tubby time with Suzy this evening that really made all mailable and relaxed. I put my tight calves against one of the water jets and it felt soooooooooooooo good.

Ok, can't fight the sleep monster anymo...re.

Purge after the binge

As many rounds and reps as possible in 20 minutes of:

15 Double unders

65 lb Thruster, 15 reps (I did one-armed thrusters 20#s)

15 Burpees (I did box jumps, 18")

4 rounds + 15 DUs + 10 Thrusters

This WOD was so taxing. I love/hate double unders. I love them when I'm doing good. I hate them when your mind psyches you out and you can't even get the rope under your feet. My one-armed thruster felt strong; I did go down 5#s from the last thruster work out I did. The box jumps were tiring.

When time was called, I sat on the floor and realized how much I was drenched in sweat. I had beads of sweat coming down from my hairline collecting at my chin; I felt like a dry glass of wine with many "legs" shimmying the length of the glass except they were long lines of moisture traversing the length of my cleavage. It was crazy. I don't think I've sweat this much since this workout.

I feel good. Now onto tackling my 90 day No Negativity Challenge.

Things are not always what they seem

Set a cone at 20 meters. Five rounds for time of:

185 pound barbell Overhead walk, 40 meters

30 Wallball shots, 20 pound ball

95 pound barbells Farmer carry, 40 meters

I used 53#s for the overhead walk, so just over half my body weight. I used 8#s for the wall ball. And I used 35#s kettle bells for the farmer carry.

On paper this WOD looked fun, but after the first round I was already discouraged. I had difficulty with the farmer carry using 35# dumbbells because of how the grip is shaped. I could not get my small hands around it to hook grip, so the weight kept slipping out of my hand. David told me go down in weight, but I knew I could carry 35#s in each hand, it had to do with my SMALL ASS HANDS. So he got my 2 KBs that perfectly fit my hands. After that hiccup, I realized that it was the overhead walk that was going to kick my ass. I cleaned and jerked the bar overhead and felt strong the first 2 rounds. Round 3, I could feel it in my abs; they got tired and so my back had to compensate, which made it twitch and tighten up. David kept reminding me to keep a tight stomach; I also was mindful to keep the weight directly above me, not behind me. Since I was walking, I kinda had the bar "lead in front" of me which corrected my form, and kept my abs engaged.

Anyway, it 40 mins of hell. And believe it or not, the wall ball wasn't even that bad. Whowuddathunkit?

A toughie is still tough

Five rounds for time of:

40 Double-unders

30 Box jumps, 24 inch box

20 Kettlebell swings, 1.5 pood

My time: 45:44

We did this WOD on March 29th, and I wrote about my initial experience here. This time around, I did the double unders (which is is technically the first time I did NOT modify it with half singles or partial DUs.), but the rest is about the same: 18" box and 3/4 pood KB. Doing the DUs added just over 12 mins to my time. Zeb says that I am more fit than in March, even if it didn't show on my time scale.

After the first round, I was already at the point of despair. I was doing my best to keep my head in it. Thank god Zeb was there to give me positive reinforcement. By round 2 of box jumps, I told Zeb to pull the pukie bucket near. I'll admit that I had to dig deep to finish this one. Round 3 was really tough. I felt as if in a desperate state... I didn't believe I could finish. My dizziness was all I could feel. Zeb told me to relax, control my breathing, relax my face... I had to do this every time I took a break.

Round 5 felt shitty, too, but I could see the light at the end of the tunnel and that kept me going. I was soooo tired that I couldn't get the rope under my feet twice. I would stop and feel my head reeling. By some miracle I got through the 40 DUs, in small sets of 2-3-1-2-4 if I was lucky. The box jumps I broke up in 10s. I finally feel good getting into a rhythm. The last set of KB swings were "easy"-- you know what I mean-- I had just done all that work and the last 20 weren't going to be my fall.

***Can I add that I can't wait until I have double unders mastered so that I can do them all linked and connected vs. a DU then a single? Then I can knock out 40 in like a minute and not have to extend my grief on WODs like this one.***

My recovery time today was about 25 minutes. This one was a doozy. I got up to fetch my water and I felt really heady and dizzy, so I opted to chill out on the floor- my favorite place. As my body wound down, I felt sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo GOOD. That euphoria, all the yummy chemicals pumping through my body and frontal lobe were IN EFFECT! I love that feeling. I was pushed really hard in this WOD and the result is that blissful state of calm.

After my head got straight I went to visit Diso at the new box and things are coming along splendidly.  I'm starting to get really excited.

"Matty"

Today was my first day back in the box after a 4 day whirlwind of celebrating my birthday of excess; excess food and libations.

I didn't really take into account how my recent activities would effect my stamina. Last night, G and I were talking about how much we despised wall balls and rowing, so seeing the WOD today I was irritated. I didn't dwell on it too much, and committed to making it to 10AM class. I arrive to find 7 or 8 strangers standing about staring at the ladies warming up. The 10AM class was a female showing: G, Dawn, Aims, Kara and myself. Oh, and Zeb. LOL! Hahahaha, I forgot. The strangers were the research and development team from New Balance Shoes. They flew in from Boston to sit in different gyms and workout formats. They chose PCF as their Crossfit gym to observe. Crazy, right?

The warm up was pretty intense and had me winded. Dawn and I were in the second heat. I opted for a sub on the muscle ups of 4 linked pull ups counted as one rep. You had to come off the bar after every 4 pull ups.  For every rep you do in 1 min. equated to 2 seconds off your total time.  I did 4 "reps."

Going into the next part of the WOD, I loaded up my bar to 55# (actually 53#) and found it very difficult. I remember the AMRAP ground to overhead WOD from a couple months back and found it very approachable, but today, every time I'd clean the  bar it would wind the hell out of me! Then to jerk it overhead.. it just took a lot of effort on my part. I had to dump the bar after each rep, and felt dizzy.

Onto the wall balls. What can I say? I made it a point to knock out as many as I could; sometimes it would be 12, sometimes it would be 5. It did feel good to do a long chain of wall balls in a row. The first round of rowing my felt good.

The 2nd round was horrible. I mean BAAAAD. I felt like shit. Death. During the wall balls. I felt like I was going to faint every time I took a break. I took what felt like 3 minutes to catch my breath and my bearings. I was afraid of fainting. I finished that round of walls balls completely concerned if I could even do another whole round after ROWInG! While I rowed pretty passively, I tossed around the idea of ending it, like not going into the final round.

I bit the bullet and decided to complete the WOD. Last round was tough. For ground to overhead, I cleaned the bar into a split jerk. David said my form was really good. That gave me a little energy.
Onto wall ball, I wanted to finish so bad, so I was determined to break it up in big chunks. 14-23-35-45-50. Diso was in my ear telling me not to think about the time, just relax and take big breaths. I must have looked like shit/death.

The last row was sloppy and slow. I kept my eyes closed for the whole thing. Zeb was right there with me, pushing along.

When time was called (for me) I collapsed on the floor.

I stayed in that post work out euphoria for almost an hour. In that time, I experienced shooting pain in the back of my head, dizziness, muscle spasms and cramping of my quads. That's how much my body was pissed at my excessive drinking the past 4 days.

I'm back on the wagon. Ate a zone-balanced paleo breakfast and lunch.

It was fun while it lasted. I can't wait till my body is back in a clean state, cause I know that I don't like feeling like I'm going to faint during a WOD. That's motivation enough to eat right.

"Matty" kicked my ass.

Holiday! Celebrate! If we took the Holiday...

15 rounds for time:

Pull ups

10 Push Ups

15 Squats

I love/hate this WOD, but mostly love.  At about round 4 I could not believe I had 11 more sets to go. At that point my arms were killing me from the push ups, so I made it an effort to go as fast as possible on my pull ups and squats- and surprisingly I killed it both of those segments. All but the last round I didn't break up pull ups or squats, just did them straight with no break. The push ups were another story. I would do 3, then rest, do 3 then rest... etc. My arms pretty much failing, I knocked it down sets of 2 + rest, and then the last round I was doing 1 pushup, then resting. My last set of squats I blasted through them. Then I collapsed and felt all the heat coming off of my body. I didn't move from my spot for  awhile.

I ended up outside, sitting in the setting sun's light. I started to feel light headed and whoozy. At this point it's been about 10 minutes since I finished the WOD. CR got me some water and I felt better. I don't think I ate enough carbs to day. I usually have 4 servings of fruit a day I only had 2 servings in one sitting.

I think I did well. A lot of the men killed the wod with sub 20 min times. Like Zeb and Rico. That's like a 50 seconds per round, like, really? It's friggin' awesome.

Now at home, my body is throbbing from the 4 classes I did this week. My left calf is jacked, my abs are sore, my shoulders are tight, and now my arms and pecs are screaming. Awesome.

Time to par-tay! Now I'm getting excited about tomorrow evening. I can't wait to introduce certain people to certain people. I love everyone I know and I think most will hit it off with each other. Like Suzy and Carla. Maybe Chris for Crose--hey now!

I hope Dakota and Melsie will get off of work early so they can get down with us... and the cake, I can't wait to see it. It's a surprise cake, but I told Kota what kind of cake I like.

I feel like a young, invigorated teenager :)

The taping of Kababayan LA was nerve racking. I was trying to get out of doing it all the way to the last second, using the excuse that I don't speak tagalog. It didn't fly. I was going to be on that stage. I was sweaty and my thoughts were going a million miles an hour in my head...  I don't want to relive it. It's over. Thank goodness.

We're movin' on up! To the East side!

*Sidebar- In my adulthood, I have developed a very animalistic physical attraction to Bruce Lee. He is the ideal body type. Lean, cut, sinewy, not too big, but bulky in all the right places.*

Ingenius programming from Zeb on this rest day:

After the WOD yesterday that just completely demoralized me, I knew I had to bounce back today with all my heart. Not once, did I think, "I hate Wall-balls." I couldn't let poison enter my mind. Those are some high numbers; 60 wall balls to finish?

After the warm up I loaded up my bar. I wanted to do 105, but it felt really heavy. So I backed down to 95#. Went into to the WOD feeling very competitive. I didn't have a time goal, but I knew I wanted to not bitch or moan or groan like I did yesterday. Just go hard and finish.

I'm happy with my time, I'm happy with my pace of how I broke up the work.

4113 Redwood Avenue is Paradiso Crossfit's new home. It's providence that has brought the box to this moment. Growth was the facilitator but not the reason. The reason is something that hasn't happened yet. I truly believe that our box has a bigger purpose for existing and touching lives. As I run into the multiplying on-rampers that I don't know  by sight or name, I feel each one will contribute to the elevation of our box. I feel it. I believe it.

(And I can't post the pictures I took. Phooey!) I guess I'll post from our grand opening WOD on July1.

I could have a 10 page bitch rant about how fuckin' horrible this was on me. But I'll just post my mediocre time and you have to trust me when I say that it was wretched. Hot, burning, bubbly gut... spinning head, gassed lungs... You name, I felt it.

My time- 28:55.

I'm glad it's over. I'm glad I finished (cause I wanted to tap out sooooo many times)

I'm just planned pooped.

I ate a shit meal today. I really think it contributed to the feelings I felt during the wod. I had filipino food. OUr food is bad. I really need to reign in my eating. Like really. Fuck I'm weak. And it's my birthday month. Excuses. I hate when I don't do well in the WODs.

Well, tomorrow is a new day.

I don't have a title

Seven rounds for time of:

10 Handstand push-ups

10 Dumbell Squat cleans (45/30)

10 L-pull-ups

Scale: 45#-40#-30# Strict press, 20# DB, Strict PU with band with a 10sec hold on deadhang in chair position. Phew! Lot's of mods.

So the first round, I was able to do 10 STRICT presses. 2nd round I was only able to get the bar up only 4 times before I just couldn't lift up at all, so I went down to 40#s. Did that for a round and a half and then the same thing happened, my arms just were done. So finally finished up the last 2 and half rounds at 30#s.

The DB Squat cleans were the fuckin' worst. Like, really. I did 20#s in each hand...  and I don't need to waste my words on describing the suckiness of doing 70 DB squat cleans. And the bruises I got last Wednesday from the DB triplet WOD have been reinjured and are purple all over again--- YAY!

The strict pull ups were only tough because my arms were completely gassed and just wouldn't work anymore. The last 10 (of 70!!!) were ugly. I could only do one at a time then have to take a short break and really shake out my arms. From 10 down the 1, my pull ups go progressively uglier. Did the last one and had to go into a 10 sec deadhang in the chair position, with your knees perpendicular to your body, mimicking sitting in a chair. My abs feel great, btw.

After Diso called time for me (cause I couldn't speak) I sat on my stack of weights and my face went numb. Seriously. I couldn't move my mouth. I could just breath. Even though i was sitting, I was slumped over. I stayed in that postion for a good 5 mins, and would have for longer, but Gretchen wanted to work out where I was. She moved me into a folding chair.

Soon enough I collapsed on the floor, laid on my side and proceed to give into my growing drowsiness. I slipped easily into sleep. I could still hear what was going on in the Box... it was cool straddling the fine line between consciousness and unconsciousness.

Woke up to G and Dawn killing the same wod that put my ass sleep. G with a busted ear at that!
I look up to both of them at PCF. G is just such an athlete, and she is sooo fricken' chill.

In the end, I love this WOD for pushing me to the edge. Round 5 Diso asked how I was doing, and I got all whiney and cry baby like, saying, "I'm tired." Remember, the pinnacle of taking me to the edge is that feeling of crying during or after the WOD. And I felt that today.

What did I eat today?

Oo, I discovered a "greasy spoon" down on La Tijera called the Coffee Co. Had the yummiest mush-onion-bell pepper-ham omelette. I et it all. with fruit. I think I could put mush-onion-bell pepper-ham on anything and I would eat it.

See, I killed it :D Yum
